Tying a Reef Knot for Joining Yarn in Crochet.

When working on crochet projects, sometimes the yarn runs out and we need to join a new strand of yarn. One simple way to connect two yarn ends is by using a Reef Knot, also known as a Square Knot.

This knot is easy to tie and helps keep the yarn joined neatly while continuing the crochet work.

To tie a Reef Knot, first cross the two yarn ends. Then place the left yarn over the right yarn, and pull it through. After that, place the right yarn over the left yarn and pull it through again.

A simple way to remember this knot is:

Left over Right, then Right over Left.

When tied correctly, the knot becomes firm and secure, helping keep the yarn joined while continuing crochet work.
